Reclaim The Night 2015 - Call to Action!

Reclaim the night is our annual awareness raising march and rally that marks the start of the 16 days of activism that highlights violence against women and sees gender based violence as a human rights issue. Meet us on Wednesday 25th November at 6pm at the Botanic gardens on Great Western Road.

You are called to action! Find out what you can do to help.

Individuals call action!

You are encouraged to make and bring your own banners with slogans and facts that you want to show off. You can also bring banners with your own group names to show your support and solidarity.

Get your phones out and take lots of images to help us document the event. We’re creating an archive to document our events. Send us your images to use on our website or post them on social media to help raise awareness and get others involved in the cause.

Post info about RTN 2015 on your website, blog or social media. You can show your support by retweeting, liking, commenting or blogging!

We encourage you to think of ways to raise funds for Glasgow Rape Crisis Centre to enable the frontline work with survivors of sexual violence to continue.

Bring everyone! Everybody is welcome!

Campus and local groups call to action!

Write articles on issues around violence against women and on RTN 2015 for your University/College newspaper. Approach your campus radio station and ask them to promote the event or to speak about why your group want to raise awareness.

Tell your local press, blogs and social media that your group is getting involved in RTN and why you are showing support.

Use your social media or other outlets to regularly put out facts about violence against women and girls. Advertise RTN 2015 on your group’s website, blog or social media. You can show your support by retweeting, liking, commenting or blogging.

Think about other groups you could work with to raise awareness. The 16 days of activism highlights that violence against women is a human rights issue.

Organise an awareness week in your town or city during the 16 days of action which are between the UN Day to end violence against women — 25th November and the 10th December which is Human Rights Day. These are linked by the 16 days of action to make the link that women’s rights are human rights.
