Advice and support from the UK Government

If you’re still abroad, we recommend you get advice and assistance from the local British embassy, high commission, or consulate. They can help you get any medical assistance you need. They’ll also help you if you’re thinking about reporting a rape or sexual assault. They’ll be able to provide you with basic information and guidance about the local legal system and provide someone to go with you if you decide to go to police. UK-based rape crisis centres, included Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis, can’t provide advocacy, legal advice or information to anyone outside the UK or provide any legal representation.

Find the nearest embassy, high commission or consulate where you are on the UK Government website.

Call the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in London on +44 (0)20 7008 5000.

When you get home

When you get back to the UK, we can connect you with your local specialist service to make sure you continue to receive support. If you live in the Glasgow and Clyde area, we’ll continue to provide the support you need.
