Volunteer
Our volunteers take a very important role in our centre, thanks to them our helpline has been running for decades. Volunteers are invaluable members of the Glasgow & Clyde Rape Crisis team.
Most of our volunteers deliver our Connect Live phone and messaging support service. However volunteers also help us with fundraising and our drop in services or group work sessions.
Every year we are looking for new volunteers, we encourage all women, especially those who represent different minority groups to apply and join our team.
About the training:
Our training takes lasts around 10 weeks, during which volunteers will develop understanding of many complex issues related to gender-based violence. When a volunteer completes this part of the training programme successfully, they will then undertake shadowing with mentors on Connect Live.
If you are empathetic, warm, clear, respectful, understanding and committed – and if you have some time – you could consider training to be a volunteer on our Connect Live Service.
