Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis Update on Referrals to Emotional & Therapeutic Support and Triage Service and the RUBY Service

Feb 17, 2026 | News

From 8am on Tuesday 17 February – the waiting lists for the Emotional & Therapeutic Support and Triage service and the RUBY service will close, with a formal review scheduled to take place on Thursday 30 April.

We regret to inform you that new referrals to our Emotional, Therapeutic & Triage and RUBY services waiting lists are now closed.

This is to help us support the 182 survivors that are currently waiting for service, amounting to a waiting period of up to 226 days.

Despite our best efforts to seek additional funding from the grant allocated by the Scottish Government under the Delivering Equally Safe fund to rape crisis centres and other violence against women and girls’ organisations in Scotland, for the 2026/27 financial year, GCRC has been advised that our grant award will stand still for the upcoming year.  This is devasting for everyone involved with GCRC and could mean that up to 1,522 survivors across Glasgow and Clyde will not be able to receive the specialist support they rely on to heal and reclaim their lives following rape and sexual violence.  Support that only we at GCRC can and do provide.

Please be assured that we will continue to do all we can to redress this funding decision, and to enhance our ability to deliver the services we know are vital to women and girls.

In the meantime, information and general support can be accessed via our website https://www.glasgowclyderapecrisis.org.uk/ and our helpline service Freephone: 08088 00 00 14 and https://www.glasgowclyderapecrisis.org.uk/get-in-touch/our-phone-messaging-and-email-service/.
